I did not have a telephoto lens when I made this trip, so while others in the group were taking compressed perspective shots of the distant barns, I had to be more creative with what was close to me.

The steep sides of Strid Wood allow visual access to high in the trees.

This was my first trip to the Yorkshire Dales. I loved the often bleak landscapes dotted with gnarled trees stone barns.
